So i rarly talk about other MMO’s…. Well other than EQ2, WoW and Planetside i have never mentioned any other MMO’s. So today i’m reading some news on digg and i saw this story about Conon.
It appears that Conon (at least to my knowledge), is going to be the most R rated, Adult MMO out there.
First Nude Female slaves, I personly don’t mind nudity in games, but they should have nude male slaves as well, cause it sound a little sexist to just have one, but i don’t really know the lore of Conan, maybe there just female slave in there.
The nudity also presents a problem. In most game you have some.. let call it prostitution, or something similar. If you have nude characters models, it just make it easier for stuff like that. And if you’ve ever sent some time in Second Life…. you know that can be a scary thing.
I personly don’t mind a game with nudity, but i can tell there going to be some upset parents who might walk in on there kids playing with a nude charater and stuff.
The other part of Conon is Violence. Most MMO’s don’t have blood.. Conan dose.. but dosn’t stop there you can chop body part off. I think this adds to the game. Normaly when you fight a mob it just drops dead… Blood and detached body part feel more real. But again parents are not going to like it.
In the end i think Age of Conon might not get the M rating it might get an AO rating. Which might hurt it sells because most store will not sell AO games.

I dont think this is the conan MMo..just a ps3 game coming out using the conan license
Yeah… that looks remarkably like Conan in the pictures, and Conan won’t be playable in the MMO. Plus look at how he’s fighting that giant snake (dragon?). That would be one hell of a combat system for an online game.
In any case, Age of Conan is intended as a game for adults. Period. They aren’t trying to make it kid-friendly or remove the darker aspects. I wouldn’t be surprised to see slavery, topless women, and all the gore you’d expect from the Conan universe.
Even if it did receive an AO rating, I think it would tend to hurt an MMO less than it would a console title like Manhunt 2– you can still do digital distribution with your client. Gamers will still buy and play it (although you will lose significant sales, sure).
That’s Conan for 360 and Ps3. Not Age of Conan.
Age of Conan has both nudity and gore.
A games for adults should came years ago if u ask me.
the top dog of all pvp had gore but it was mainly in 2d so it wasnt such a big deal i guess… i am talking about UO.. where you could chop up another players body and carry aroudn his head in your pack.
AoC looks good i jus thope the game play is good.
