About Odus (Sentinel’s Fate)

If you looking for what was anounced at fan faire check out The Eq2 Wire. The rest of this is my own speculations.

History Lesson

After the fall of the Combine Empire (way before eq1), the cities of Freeport and Qeynos rose up to become the major cities of Humanity. A group of humans living in qeynos led by Erud became irritated, and disgusted with men. They left qeynos to the island/continent of Odus and formed their own city, and called them self the Erudin’s. They gathered reports, books, scrolls and other artifacts that there spies got for them (Sounds like the Order of Rime). They were the first Human Mages. After some time, a group Erudites discovered the lost art of Necromancy, and they were branded as heretics. A magic war broke out between the 2 groups. In the Final battle great mystic energies were releases and an immense hole leading to unknown depths was created. A tribe of Kerra where blown all the way to the moon of Luclin and became the Vah Shir. The city of Paineel was created on the side of the hole, and this is where the Erudites who believe in Necromancy lived.

Speculation

This is Odus in eq1 times.

There were 2 overland zones Toxxulia Forest and Stonebrunt Mountains which will probably be the 2 overland zones mentioned. The The order of Rime could either be what is left of Erudin orcould live in stonebrunt mountains. Stoneburnt mountains had a huge snowie area with a little village, so the Order of Rime (i’m guessing) most likely came from there.

The Hole is a level 82+ dungeon. The rest is pretty much up in the air.

  • The Hole dungeon is gonna be awesome. Such a perfect setting for one.

I was quite disappointed with the Erudites in EQ2. IMO the ones in EQ1 looked a lot cooler and more of a personality to them. The character models in EQ1 were just like skinnny aliens. Shame.
