Nvidia 3d Vision (3D gaming)

On Sunday took me out to Buca di Beppo’s (which was pretty nice), then we walked around Palo Alto before deciding to go to Micro Center. At Micro Center they had 2 different 3d gaming computer sets up.

The Cheep one by some company had WoW running and it sucked balls. On the other computer they had Nvidia’s 3D Vision which was pretty amazing job on this. It does feel a little werid though, but it works pretty well, (kind of like 3d moives).

It cost a lot though. It 300ish for the glasses, You need to have a 120Hz monitor (I think theres like 2 maybe 3 computer monitor on the market that are 120 Hz, though there are plently of Tv’s). You need  Geforce 9 or x series.

Turing the 3D on esstialy cut your Frame rate in 1/2, because it has to do twise the ammount of work. (If you where getting 30 frames a second in a game, you’d now get 15).

They even have a list over 200+ games that are compatable with it. (Everquest 1 and 2 are not list, but WoW is rank Excellent, and Eve is ranked (Fair). (Ranks go Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor, Not Recomended) .

I check ATI and could not find any 3d gamming like this so i think Nividia could become a dominate player in this space. I also think the 8th Generation of Console will support some form of 3d gaming as well.

On a side note we also played Tom Clancy hawk, on a system that probably cost over 10K with the monitor.
