My internet is back!!!!! That was the longest week ever! So the problem with my internet was 2 fold.
Problem 1. When the ATT guy came and set up our new modem a few months ago he put our user name as attrep@att.com on our side, AND ATT’s side. So that technology worked, because both sides had the same information. But all hell broken lost last week when i changed my contact information. This caused ATT’s side to now have to correct e-mail and password, and our side to have the wrong one. Now the easy thing to do would just change our side to the right username and password… but this lead to problem 2.
Problem 2. The Modem ATT give you when can not have it setting modified after it has been switched from PPP to PPPoE mode. I pretty much spent all Friday on the phone with ATT support moving up the levels until i got to some uber geek above level 2 to figure out how to fix that problem.
To fix the problem we had to do a hard reset of the modem, then reconfigure all the setting and put the right user name and password. And then everything worked again. So i officially have the internet again…
