Greg Spence the lead programmer for Eq2, just update his blog with information on the new Quest Helper that is coming in to Everquest 2 in Game update 55, Sentinel’s Fate. More info here
The update will allow character to track multiple quests at a time (Something that most MMO already do, and something that i have wanted Everquest 2 to do for some time).
For all your programmer out there he did give a way a little bit on how EQ2 put out there update. They just branch the code base for GU54. This mean that GU54 is its own branch, and anything submited in to the main EQ2 branch now will not make it in Gu54. If they follow the same software practices most companies follow this mean that the only thing that now can be submitted is bug fixes.
I’d be interested to know how much time goes between when they branch and when they put out the update. Seeing that the test notes are up i’m expecting it before Thanks giving (so 2 -3 weeks)
