On Keen and Graev’s posted a link to a video about Star Wars: The Old Republic’s Companion Characters.
I am torn between this being a good or a bad thing.
Every single character in the game will be able to have 1 Companion Character, that function like the companion characters in any other Bioware game (Dragon age….).
The good
If you join a group and you can’t find a healer, and you have a companion character that can heal you can have that character heal the group while you guys are playing. I think that a good idea, as it is one of the thing i hate the most about MMO’s. Sitting around waiting for a tank or a healer, or more DPS.
The Bad
More people are going to end up soloing the game, and less people will be looking for groups because they don’t need them. I do believe though that if the encounters are hard enough that you need more than your self and a companion character to complete, people will still group, but i think people will end up grouping less. Or complaining more that there shouldn’t be content that they are unable to do by them self’s.
