W00t after 2 weeks i am ready to go back to work. To be honest i’ve been getting bored. I’ve got a lot of important work related stuff coming over the next few month.
Before the Winter Break i finished the Functional Specs and some of the Project Plan for my first major product. I am designing the new File Ownership Tool (File Attribute Tool). Which will impact all thousand + engineers in the future where i work. It feels weird and scary that in a few month a thousand engineers, their manager, and their VP’s will be using the file ownership tool i wrote…
It feels scary because if the tool doesn’t work, or is hard to use, or is slow, or isn’t accurate, I, (a 1 year out of college graduate) literally could cost a Fortune 500 company Millions in dollars a quarter in productivity .
On the flip side if my tool preforms as i want it to, and it is easy to use, and accurate, Then i save the company Millions of dollars a quarter in productivity. And then i become the Uber College Grad who should get a 6 figure salary…. Right :>

Getting bored? Of holiday? Crazy talk!
