Have fun! Sounds like it will be awesome.
No Amsterdam?! But The Coffee Houses, Heineken Brewery, 100s of museums, The Coffee Houses, Beautiful Parks and Canals and did I mention the coffee houses? Oh, Thats right your from California, you guys aren’t as repressed as us east coasters.
The original trip did include Amsterdam… But we went with another one that was less rushed.
I probably take a lot of London forgranted, its got its highlights although big cities are never something I’m too fussed about since I like to go out and see nature / countryside, although with London there is more then you can probably cover properly in a week with museums etc if you only go to the major landmarks.
For me my favourite places to go in the UK are Dorset (Swanage/Poole), Westcountry in quieter spots like Woolacombe, or in the villages around Kent (if you are a real ale fan then I would recommend if you end up travelling to the south of London to visit the Halfway house in Brenchley Kent – the best real ale pub in the region, and at times the UK (its a 17th century coaching inn) ).
Other than that as someone from the UK Italy always appeals, I’ve travelled to Germany now and then (Dusseldorf is an exception as cities go and very clean and enjoyable to stay at), Bruge in Belgium though is a place I really must arrange a visit to, it has been described as the Venice of the north.
