Starting out in Morrowind

So i’ve never played Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, and after playing a lot of Skyrim i’m planing to give it a shot, since everyone says its great.

Before i started playing i downloaded MGE. MGE lets you play Morrowind on a wide screen monitor. You can download the plug-in here

Starting out

Like every Elder Scrolls game you start off as a prisoner, you on a boat heading to Morrowind were you will be free’d. Morrowind is the home of the Dunmer (Dark Elves). During the 3rd era parts of Morrowind were controlled by the empire (which is when the game take places) by the time Skyrim starts Morrowind is part of the Argonian state (and most dark elf have flee’d)

Starting out i was surprised at how well the game looks, now the people model kind of suck, but everything else looks pretty good.

Right after getting off the boat your in the city of Seyda Neen, following the first quest, you give you name, class, race, star sign, to the imperial census, and then your free’d to go. Your given a ring that you can return to Bosmer (which i did). I did a little exploring of the town, and then took the Sith Strider off to Balmora

  • Get the “Better Bodies” mod and it fixes the character models’ crappiness right up. IIRC, there’s a “Prettier People” mod that includes the “Better Bodies” mod as well as a lot of better facial textures that make everything look way better, but it’s been so long since I’ve played Morrowind that I’m a bit fuzzy on that.

Before long you’ll probably be looking for the “Cliff Racer Remover” mod as well. Just sayin. . . .

  • I’ll have to give that one a shot.
