Returning to my roots

Yesterday I logged in to Everquest 1 for the first time in 4 years. A lot of other blogers have been coming back to Everquest and giving it a try again, I went ahead and did the same. (I am a sucker for Peer Pressure).

I had camped out 4 years ago at the Lost Dungeons of Norrath camp in butcher block. I had all my gear, and 4000 plat on me. I’m guessing I was not planning to quit that day I logged out, but apparently I did.

The first order of business was to run over to PoK and see if there was anyone still played the game. Getting to the Plane of Knowledge turned out to be harder than I thought it would be. It took me about 5 minutes to figure out how to get my mount on, and my mount appeared to make me slower than running by my self.

While I remember what butcherblock looked like, I could not figure out were the book to the plane of Knowledge was. I ended up zoning in to Dagnor’s Cauldron. Then zone back in to Butcher block and after about 10 minutes found were the book was, and zone in to Plane of Knowledge, ran to the bank I remember everyone use to hang around…. And no one was there… Which was a little downhearting seeing it so empty. (also I had to look up how to take a screen shot)

Next stop was the bazaar; I found the little short cut they added after I left that went straight to the bazaar. Which has been totally redone since I last visited it (I miss the old one). The good news was the amount of traders up in the new bazaar look to be on par with what was up in the old bazaar (maybe even more).

  • I dunno what server you’re on, but most everyone hangs out at the Guild Lobby now, ever since they added banks there.

Welcome back! And if you happen to be on Luclin, stop by and say hello :)

  • /agree with Tipa, the guild lobby is the place to be.

If you’re on luclin, feel free to say hellos!
