The second Stage of Spore is the Creature stage. You are out of the water and now have legs!
This stage is more complex than eating and staying alive. Body parts will now give you stats. Every body part has some sort of stat on it. Each stat ranges from level 1 to 5. Only the highest level of that stat counts. So if you have bite level 2, and bite level 3. You bite is level 3 (removing the level 2 bite will not effect your bite level).
Attack stats – You will use these if you want to kill other creatures. If you are a meat eat, the only way to get meat is to kill things. There are some creatures out there who will want to kill you no matter how nice you are, so it alway good to defend your self. Or if your like me, you saw some cute defensive creature, and butchered them.
- Bite
- Charge — Can’t be used closed up.
- Spit — can’t be used close up.
- Strike
Social skills — You use these to make friends. To make friends with another creature you need to make what they are doing. If they sing, charm, dance. You need to do that as well. They will move the meter up 50%, you must also move it up 50% or more to be there friends. If you can’t it mean one of your skills is lower than there, and they will not be your friends until you match or beat there skill

- Dance
- Charm
- Sing
Blue Skills — These are specal skills, you don’t need to upgrade them to beat this stage. If you have wings, you’ll gain the ability to fly for a while. Other creatures can turn invisable. Some can make you jump higher. I don’t know all the names of these skills but there are 6 or 7 of them. I did not really pay attention to them the first time i played the game.
There also Health and Run speed.
Now your not given every part right away. Your given only a few parts straight off the back. To get the other parts you have to earn them. You earn them by making friends, and killing thing. Also the skelton you see all over the place. Digging them up give you parts. There are litterly over 100 (probably 150-200) parts you can find. Each with there own stenght and weaknesses.
As you progress you family will move to a differnet nest. With harder creatures around. Once you have killed or made enought friends you progress bar will be at 100% and you can move on to the next stage.
This is the LAST time your creature will physical evolve. (YES that right). This will be the final look of your creature so make sure you have what you want.
Your choises of what you did in this stage will also effect you in the future. If you killed almost everything in sight, it will be harder to switch to a more peaceful tribe in stage 3. Which will cause your civilization in stage 4 to most lkely be a military one. If you were really peaceful, you’ll end up most likely a religous civilization in stage 4. And if you were in the middle you’ll be more industrail.
Also this is the first stage you’ll see Epics. Epics are huge monster with tons of hit point that can kill you pretty fast. I have been able to kill the 250 hp type of epics. I tried on a 1000HP epics and got killed in one hit. So keep your eye out for epics.
