Quiting Warhammer returning on Everquest 2
Yesterday something amazing happened.
I logged in to Everquest 2 and started to do some tradeskill writes, and was talking with my guild, and i relized i was having more fun doing thouse tradeskill writes than i had been having in Warhammer.
And i relized at that moment, i have more fun in Everquest 2 than Wahammer! And on top of that, i found this out crafting in Everquest 2. Which by far is one of the least fun things to do in Everquest 2.
So what the hell is wrong with me? I mean looking at almost every MMO bloger out there. Warhammer is the second comming of WoW (Which was the second coming of Everquest…). So what wrong with me?
And i pin pointed it pretty easily. I felt alone in Warhammer. Almost Every group i was in, there was very little comunication. People would join groups to get what they want, and once they got it they’d leave, there was very little helping each other out.
Scenarios had there own problems. No one would communicate with each other. A few people would run towards one of the goals, other to another one. I would even say that Desturction was going for the light house or what ever… and no one would really care.
In the end i felt that the general population in Warhammer had a Me First, Second, and Thrid, and fuck everyone else type of attitude. Everquest 2 has a more helpful attitude. People attualy talk to each other as well. And at the end of the day, i don’t feel like i’m alone in an MMO in Everquest 2. I feel like i’m really play and getting to know other people.
With that said. Warhammer is a great game! But it couminity / playerbase, really sucks.
I have cancled my Warhammer account.

I let all the hype of warhammer suck me in. I just couldn’t get into the game and canceled after free month.
Welcome Back to EQ2!
I agree with the community aspect. Unless you’re in a guild – and how are you supposed to find one, with no one talking. It’s *great* for those people who managed to bond ahead of time and get something going (ie: CoW) but what about everyone who’s NOT in that guild (or any other guild for that matter). Not everyone works that way though, and as the days go by, it’s increasingly frustrating to have everything so dang quiet. People can’t ask questions about their class in game, can’t promote their guild, etc. Ugh.

I feel the same way… I’ve been thinking about going back to EQ2 ever since starting Warhammer. The community stinks… so far I’ve only been in a few groups, and barely anyone, and I mean, anyone, talks in that game. I may as well play Elder Scrolls.
I’ve been thinking of the same thing. I enjoy the PVP aspect of WAR, but doing the same scenarios over and over is boring, and the overall lack of communication is really amazing. What surprised me even more is on a guild recruitment message board, how many guilds said things like – no guild chat, vent only, or if you don’t have vent don’t bother. So even if you were in a guild, no guarantee of any in-game communication!
I never left EQ2 and I am very happy playing.
I would play EQ2 before even getting a scrip for WAR…
i.e: I knew it before it even launched..
I am sorry people had to buy the box to find out otherwise…
It amazes me those months of bloggers arguing with us who thought WAR was blah..
How silly it all seems now.
Like the other comments, I know the feeling but maybe not to the same extent. I have been lucky and made a few friends very quick in the game. I also got into a guild that I enjoy playing with…but before the server transfers I still felt pretty lonely. They have spread the population way too thin and then put in a broken chat system that feels very claustrophobic. That being said, I feel compelled to keep playing…but EQ2 gets just as much if not more time than WAR right now.
I played WAR for about a month, and also left due to the solitary feel to the whole thing. I remember offering any player who would speak all my items/gold before I last logged off. At that time I was in the busiest spot player-wise I had been to date. No one said a thing.
And also lets not forget that war is just to easy, it is all just so strait foreward and minamal that it is boring after a short while. If a game is to balanced even for people that have no idea how to build there character whats the point for anyone to put any real time into carefully building one up. I had a huge list of improvements for war then I realized oh wait that would be eq2 with sc so like the last time I left to try wow I am returning to eq2.
