With The Shadow Odyssey a new map system is being released.
The first thing you will notice is that the map window has been totally redesigned. The left drop down let you pick a continent and the the right drop down let you pick what area.
So maps are really detailed. An show you a lot of the thing that are in the zone. Green and Purple arrows show zone lines. I don’t know what the difference between them mean though. The yellow full circles so far seem to be point of interest. The yellow open circles are still quests. The bed icons are house locations. The little books i think are write givers. The arrmor merchants have arrmor, weapons have swords, ammo have arrows. Normal merchant have bags. Bankers have a gold coin. Food merchant have bread and whine. Mail boxes have a little letter…. But you get the point.
They have been working with the eq2 interface people, making sure they were in beta to help with the maps i believe. All in all i like the new maps.. It will mean my eq2 maps thing i’ve done is pretty pointless now, but it was fun learning how google maps works.
