Back before Vanguard came out, there was tons of hype how this game was the MMO to end all MMO’s becasue Brad has made everquest1, and he will make an uber game like before.
One of my first post for 2007 i said this
Except the hype, and the hype is only because of Brad McQuaid. Brad McQuaid is like Steve Jobs. At MacWorld it doesn’t matter what he pimping to you but he’ll make you want it, he’ll make you droll, and when you go out and buy it all Hype up, and get it home, it turn out it wasn’t what you expected. Vanguard will suffer from this.
And Vanguard did suffer from this. The game was so so hyped up to be the greatest MMO since EQ, or WOW. Brad was seen as the legendy creater of EQ, and than Vanguard would be up to that par… And the game failed… Badly.
While Vanguard has failed… Brad McQuaid Legend dies as well. Looking around different vanguard blogs you see.
- Off with his Head
- Brad McQuaid Abandoned Vanguard, Sigil
- ‘The Right Thing’ Would Be To Go Down With the Ship
Brad McQuaid legend dies with this game. Very few investors now dare give him money now. Very few companies would dare hirer him with the behavior that he has shown in the last half a year. He will no longer be seen as the Genius who created Everquest. But will be seen as the guy who was out of touched. Who when his company was struggling the weeks up to the release of the game, and the month after didn’t both to show up and help.
Essentially Left Sigi leaderless, when Sigi needed a leader.
