the onslaught set seems like the way to go for any melee dps, i plan on picking that up on my dirge asap.

As a Dirge I don’t see how you make the Onslaught set work. I would have to replace my RE cloak and then either the 12 Tone Earring or My Circle of Necrosis and I don’t know if that proc is gonna make up for it.
