The differences between us
When the last Harry Potter book came out, the first thing i did, was turn to the last pages and read them. Before i even read the other 600 pages of that book i knew whether Harry Potter died or not. But it did not spoil the story for me. I have read the book a few time because i enjoy the story, and i get something new out of it every time i read it, even though i know what coming.
I bring this up because at the end of Stargrace’s last post, got me to thinking on if i am spoiling the expansion. And after thinking about it, i don’t believe i am spoiling the expansion by posting loot, and small walkthroughs of the zones i’ve been through.
While yes there will be some people who believe I’m spoiling the expansion, for me stuff like this makes me more interested, makes me want to play. In Everquest 1 i would spend hours on Allakhazam making my own equations trying to find the armor that would give me the best stats. It brought me to zones and places i never would of went to by my self in game, because i went to a website and found a piece of armor that i wanted. I ended up learning the lore and history of the game through these site, and exploring these areas i never bothered to go normally.
I would rank these as some of my greatest adventures, even though i knew what special skills the mobs had, and what loot was dropped. These were the greatest because of the people i was with, because of the stories we created our self, while waiting for the mobs 2 hour spawn period. Because of the friendships that were formed.
I still log in to the forums of my original eq1 server Kane Bayle (kane-bayle.org). Even though i haven’t played eq1 in 4 years, because of those friendship. And at the end of the day whether someone has spoiled the game or not, it those friendship that make the game fun. Both Keen and Graev’s and Ardwulf made post recently about Warhammer having no soul. And i enjoyed the game, no one spoiled it for me, but 2 week in to the game, there was very few people talk to each other. And even though i thought the game was great, and still do.

Every one plays their own way, and likes their own method of giving out information.
I didn’t mean anything personal by my post – I skip any of the complete walk throughs or mass posts of TSO set gear etc. Because like I said, the expansion is still a few weeks away and I want to explore and find that stuff out for myself. I don’t want to be all eager about what gear I need now and what the trick is to finishing a zone before I’ve even started. It takes away from the fun. All these spoilers coming out ruin things — not just for me, but for others reading them. But there’s always the choice to simply not read them.
