I haven’t logged in to Everquest 2 or any MMO for over a month. Every time i get bored i’ve been asking my self what i want to do. And playing an MMO is not something that has come to mind. Playing GTA4, or watching a tv/movie or play with my WII is just more fun than playing MMO’s right now.
I guess the major fault of MMO’s in general is the time it takes to get to the fun part. The fun part to me is grouping with other people and the loot from killing those names. Right now in Everquest 2 i could log in and spend the next hour looking for a group and not find one. It is not just Everquest 2, it all MMO’s i’ve played (WoW, EvE, War). They all suffer from the fact you can’t just turn them on and get to the fun.
Why should i have to sit around doing solo quest (which have not changed in the last 10 years). When i can log in to GTA4, and get instant enjoyment. Or watch a movie and get instant enjoyment. I want an MMO that give me instant enjoyment. I want something new in my MMO. I want something i haven’t seen before.
I have grown tired of doing quest because at the end of the day they are all the same. Go to the Land of Uber, and kill 12 Uber dogs and return. Or Go to the Land of Uber and pick up 10 Uber bones. Or go to the Land of Uber and talk to Sir Uber and see what he wants.
I don’t want to kill 10 more rats, or pick 10 more items up. Or go kill Bob who has the same skills as Greg who i killed 2 level ago… Give me something refreshing and different. I want Mini Games. I want Races. I want Competition. I want a real market system. I want more!

Totally agree with you. Still think Warhammer made some improvements with scenarios and openrvr. If I’m bored I can just jump into action and play for a few minutes and then logout again.
I agree with the OP. MMos in General have turned total suck. It’s equipment quest. Whatever the next expansion is will be equipment quest 2.0 The only fun “MMO” I’ve played is MPBT 3025 and it never cleared beta. Now that game was fun.
