Ding Level 24

Yes i’ve been playing WoW for about a month and 1/2 and i just reach level 24 on the only charater that i have. I haven’t been playing WoW that hard, but i’m still enjoying it.  I like the fact that i can just log in for an hour or 2 a week and gain a level. In everquest 2 while i could compelte a couple quest in that time and go through maybe a story line i end up, i’d end up with only 5% xp, and kind of feeling like the night was worthless.

I guess that create a delemia If you make level really easy how to do keep people in your game when they get to the top. I haven’t been to WoW top so i don’t know what they’ve done to keep people coming, comapred to EQ2 where it seem like 2/3 of the populartion reaches the top and they quit the game a month or 2 after they get there, only to repear again when the next expantion comes.

I don’t know… I am an EQ2 launch day vet, and I’ve had my sub constantly since then. I’ve got 3 level 80′s and a loooooong way to go to get more AA for them much less gear them up.

Leveling speed has also been increased lately for the 20-70 level range, and it’s so fast I’ve actually turned off my combat xp on my toons below level 60. It doesn’t help that for each toon you have at 80 you get a 10% bonus to combat xp. Made it so that my low-40′s mystic killed 16 mobs for a quest and got a complete 100% of a level for it. For solo mobs. It was ridiculous.

Now I’ll grant that after that “flying on up” leveling speed that the 70-80 range feels pretty slow, but… I play simply to relax. I don’t have time to raid anymore, so mostly I just solo, or maybe run a couple of instances here and there on weekends.

FWIW, the couple of times I tried WoW I felt that leveling was slower than in EQ2, and that was *before* EQ2 increased the leveling speed.
